Getting to Fiji-the scenic route

BULA! We have arrived in Fiji. We are about to take off on our 6th flight in the last 4 days. Although we are not really sure how many days it has been since we flew over the International Date line. 


Our journey began days ago at JFK after coming off of a wonderful week long family vacation in Ocean City (Shout out to Mom and Dad Bossers for the vacation, a crazy out of the way drop off, watching Diablo, and hopefully pick up :).  We flew 6 hours to LA where we spent a perfect night with Kristy, Kirk, and the most adorable two babies in the land.  There not really babies anymore.  Zelly was incredibly vocal and loving, quite a change from her independent and "go away" stage last time we saw her.  George is a heartbreaker already and is giving us an identity crisis.  We're not even sure who is uno and dos now!


Our next flight took us to Honolulu.  We spent an idillic day in Waikiki Beach.  Perfect location.  Our hotel was right across from the gorgeous beach.  We spent the afternoon in the sun and green water.  We then hit the town, believe it or not.  It was perfect weather, and you know Amy can be a tough critic.  We had a wonderful meal and meandered through the streets lined with tiki torches and white lights.  


We arrived in Nadi (pronounced Nandi) late last night (according to Fiji), but lost a day due to crossing the International Date Line.  The flight was long, but awesome.  We flew over Christmas Islands and got some incredible pics.  This was definitely the smallest international airport we have ever seen, and you know we've seen a few :) We even saw the sun set on one side of the plane as the moon was rising on the other at the same time.  The moon was full, huge, and orange! Georgeann was so excited about being serenaded by the local Fijian as we disembarked the plane. 


We are now at the Nadi airport-again-it's 5AM here, not sure what it is at home!  Amy's still drinking coffee and says it's pretty good, but there is no Dunkin' or ice in sight...


We are now off to Savusavu for the real adventure to begin!
